Playing with Letters

In grade school, we all learned to write from left to right, top to bottom, never asking questions. But there is no classroom in scrapbooking where a teacher will reprimand you for playing around with your letters. In this layout, IP Design Team member Donna Leslie uses DynamiX stickers to spell out her daughter's name Paige, in a unique vertical layout. Great job Donna!

Wild Scrapbooking!

Layouts are a wonderful way to express yourself. Art is an excellent channel of self discovery, and layouts are no doubt wonderful expessions of self. In this layout by Brittany Laakkonen, embellishments pop off the page, reflecting the "wild child" inside. Find some fun papers and see if you can find YOUR inner wild child!!

More than a Sticker

Have you ever really experiemented with our cotton art tape? I mean, really took the time to explore its possibilities? Well, if you haven't...you should! Because the possibilities are endless! Our Cotton Art Tape is more than just another sticker to decorate your pages. It can play many roles for the avid scrapbooker, from book binding to a small photo corner accent, cotton art tape is extremely versatile. In this layout, it was used to cover the Heart Coasters from Gin-X. When sanded on the sides, they fray out, giving them a fabric look. Available in coordination with all new lines, and the majority of older lines.

Ink, Ink, Ink...

Have you ever loved a paper, but wanted it to be a slightly different shade? Ink is your answer! In this project, Colorbox Dark Brown ink was used to darken the paper. Using a paper towel, you can smear paper with a few dabs and you have that aged look that's great for altered items.

Just as summer is on the horizon and we are all bathing suit shopping and slipping into shorts, many scrapbookers find themselves at their scraptables staring at winter pictures just now picked up from the store. If this is you, dont dismay! It's o.k. to have a little winter scrappin in the summer...after all, it's a great way to cool down! So pick up some winter paper, like "Sweater Weather" from Chloe's Closet, and start scrappin!

Closure

Do you ever make a mini book and then have no way to keep it closed? Well, look no further, because using one of our coasters with a point, such as a heart or buckle, you can slide it into a paper slit to close any small project. The project here uses a small Hearts Fire coaster and a slit reinforced with cotton art tape to keep its strength. Thanks for looking!

Coaster Storage

Use coasters to store coasters. Yes, that's right. Using only our cotton art tape and rounded square coasters, this 2x2x2 box was made. Just add a little tag to pull up the lid and you've got another place to store your coasters, buttons, jewelry, chocolate or whatever else you like to keep hidden in your scraproom!

Storytime

We all have stories from our past. And if you can't think of any...talk to your relatives, get the dish on your family's history. In this layout, IP Design Team member Emily Adams tells the story of her grandmother running into Charles Lindbergh at an airport. Don't let your stories be lost in time, write them down and scrap them, so they can be remembered and shared forever.

It's all in the Details

Serious time with the X-acto knife can certainly pay off in a big way. In this layout by IP Design Team Lead Designer Barb Hogan, intricate swirls and curves were cut from Shakespeare paper "Love Is" from Blue Cardigan Designs. They add to the formality of this wedding layout, and draw the eye to the beautiful photo. Great job, Barb!

Layout Lovin'

If you have ever had someone scrap a page in your honor, then you can understand the power of layout lovin. To know that someone took the time and thought to celebrate who you are, is an incredible feeling. This is a layout I did about my mom. She is an incredible woman and I feel that she deserves an entire library of scrapbooks about her. But, even if you can just do one layout, any mother will love it. She can frame it, put it in one of her own scrapbooks, or just put it up on the refrigerator. Just remember, it doesn't matter what you give your mother this Mother's Day, as long as it is given in love.

In a Child's Words...

Who doesn't love a good quote? A phrase that marks our seemingly plain lives with a profound thought or metaphor. But sometimes, the philosophers that can have the most impact on our lives are children. This week, try to appreciate the fresh perspective they have, bringing humor and wisdom to our lives. Interview them, and mark their answers in a book for their mother. She will love the priceless gift of words from the mouth of her child.

Write from the Heart

Sometimes the card that accompanies a present, can mean as much as the gift itself. Receiving a homemade card with words meant only for you is a powerful gesture. Here is a card made for a special mom this Mother's Day. If the words you say and the designs you create come right from your heart, your mother will love them.

Make and Take!

Today we're featuring sample layouts from our friends Stephanie and Arlene at A Page In Time in Goldsboro, North Carolina.

These ladies have creatively used the Afternoon Tea collection from Chloe's Closet, She Wears Pink collection from Gin-X, and Gin-X rub ons to make samples that were very popular with their customers. In fact, their customers liked them so much that the store basically sold out of all of the materials neeeded to create these projects!

So for all of you retailers out there, as you know, demonstrating creative uses for products helps inspire your customers to be creative and buy more product, which we all love regardless if you're buying or selling scrapbook goodies!

Here at Imagination Project, we're blessed to have a team of fabulous designers who are always busy at working creating fun and innovative projects to inspire you and your customers. Check out our blog daily, as well as our website gallery for loads of colorful and creative ideas. In addition, don't forget that hi-res images are available to you for display in your store. If you're interested in some of these, feel free to drop me an email at Barb@Imaginationproject.com and I'll see what I can to do provide you with that inspiration.

Thanks again to Arlene and Stephanie for sharing their work with us. If you've got something neat that you've created with our products and would like to be featured on our blog, please feel free to email it to me!

Happy Monday,
Barb

Ah...the power of Cotton Art Tape

Do you think you need patterned paper to make a project? Can you not start a layout until you have adhesive in your belt, ready to whip out in a moments notice? Well...think again! This box was designed using no patterned paper or adhesive; only cotton art tape and tabs. Both decorative and self adhesive, cotton art tape is strong enough to craft a book with, or simply add a new texture to a layout. Experiment today!
