Me Time

We all need a little alone time. We need to sit back, relax, and spend time doing the things that recharge our batteries. Today we see the alone time routine of IP design team member Angi Stevens. It is not a daily routine, but it always involves the same elements; internet surfing, music, and scrapbooking. Sounds like a good time to me!

A Baby's Schedule

More than any of us, newborns need routine. They are on set schedules of feeding, sleeping, and of course, crying. Here we have IP design team member Sally Davidson's precious newborn. Her daily schedule consists of drinking a 2 oz bottle, sleeping and of course being an adorable subject for some great photos. If only life could always be that simple. Adorable layout and baby girl, Sally!

Bedtime

I have always been under the impression that children are reluctant to go to bed. However, you could have fooled me with these pictures of IP design team member Greta Hammond's daughter while she gets ready for bed. Greta used Maggie White Rub-ons to lay out her daughter's evening ritual; bathtime, pajamas, video, snack, teeth, read, bed. Sounds like a relaxing evening in Indiana. Sleep sound!

Early Morning Riser

Children are always so eager to wake up in the morning and live another day. IP Design Team Member Lisa Truesdell's son Ben is certainly no exception. This layout shows Ben, early in the morning with his stuffed animal and sippy cup, desperately wanting to be awake and ready but not quite there yet. An early morning technique used by Lisa; ink black over black alpha coasters to give them a more textured look. Thanks for checking in, and good morning from Imagination Project!

Routines

"The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine."- Mike Murdock
We are going to uncover this secret this week, by focusing on the little details of our lives. We must cherish the mundane, the things that keep us moving to our next great thing. We start off with IP Design Team Member Samuel Cole and his morning routine. Now we see the secret behind what it takes to be as fabulous as our Sam!

Freezie Love!

Sorry for the missed post yesterday. It's getting close to show time and things are crazy, plus Laura who normally updates the blog is out with a back injury. Here's to speedy recovery wishes for Laura!

I wanted to upload an awesome layout for everyone to draw inspiration from. This one is called "Freezie Love" and it's by the fabulous Vicki Boutin. Vicki used Chloe's "Dig It" papers along with lots of doodling. The heart in the corner is one of the Gin-X coaster hearts and Vicki decorated it to match her layout using markers. Due to the nature of the coaster material, they will actually abosrb the TRUE color of your ink and will not be drab or dreary like chipboard.

I also wanted to announce the three RAK winners: Amanda, Paula Jean and Cathy K. I've e-mailed everyone (except Amanda - yours keeps bouncing back - please e-mail me directly at ginger@imaginationproject.com). Thank you EVERYONE for checking out our blog and you never know when we'll post another little mini-contest, etc. We've got lots of fun things coming up for everyone!

On another note, our first issue of Illuminations went out this week. If you are not on our newsletter list, please send Barb Hogan an e-mail at barb@imaginationproject.com and she will get you added and get you a copy of our newsletter. It's packed full of ideas and inspiration for using Imagination Project products as well as fun little tidbits and tricks. Right now Barb is in San Jose teaching at CKU so you'll hear back from her on Monday!

Finally - mark your calendars! We'll start posting sneak peeks of our new products that will be released at CHA on July 3rd. If you want to be "in the know" on what's coming, make sure to stop by and check it out!

Have a safe and fun weekend!

Vroom...Vroom...

Wanna take a ride? I know I do, after looking at this layout by IP design team member Ally Landy. The movement shines with the succession of pictures and the blur of a passing quad. You can just feel the speed, and hear the engine roaring. Vroom Vroom!

Artistic Imperfection

Imperfect photos aren't always a mistake. IP Design Team Member Terri Davenport's son wanted to take some blurry pictures. You can just imagine his smiling face behind the wave of his blurry hand. And we can see his eye peeking out, which is actually drawn out more because of the blur. You were right, good idea!

Imperfect Perfection

We may all be scrapbookers, but we aren't necessarily professional photographers. Scrapbooking is hard if you aren't happy with your photos, especially when you never seem to get that shot you see in your head. So this week's blog is going to focus on scrapping those less than ideal photos, because you don't have to scrap perfect pictures to have beautiful and meaningful layouts. Our first layout is by IP Design Team member Vicki Boutin. Using bright and vibrant papers she makes her photos come alive. You can feel the movement in her daughters hair and smile...it is crazy fun!!

Old Photos, New Faces

Good morning everybody! As we wrap up our week of Time Travel here on the IP blog, we've got some flashbacks to some bad perms from both Ursula Page and myself! Check out what both of us used to look like way back when. Hopefully you'll think that we've both improved with age. I know Ursula has ~ check out her hot new hair. She's looking great!

Ursula and I created two very different page styles here. Hers is much more tailored and clean, mine is a jumbled mess, but in both cases they work. It just goes to show you that you can use our products to create many different styles and moods with your work. Here at IP, we have something for everybody! I've used a combination of both Gin-X and Chloe's Closet papers with Chochkie and Oda Mae rub-ons. Ursula has used papers and Coasters from Chloe's Closet Dig It line and College rub-ons.

In Design Team news, we'd like to give a big welcome cheer to our newest designers, Katja Kromann and Miley Johnson. I know you've seen a lot of their work in the current scrapbooking magazines. Both bring a lot of talent and a big dose of style and pizazz to our team. We're so please to have them join us here at Imagination Project!

Five Years of Amour

Today, we have a layout coming all the way from designer Melanie Lagarde in France. Spanning five "ans" (years), these photos take you on a visual tour of her romance. She brings great movement with a mosaic of pictures, fibers and coaster circles. Thank you for your layout Melanie, Merveilleux!

Watch Me Grow

Many of us keep layouts in chronological orders in albums, to see growth as pages turn. But how many of us scrap chronologically in a single layout? In this layout, IP Design Team Member Kim Kesti features pictures spanning 3 years time of her as a child. We watch her grow and bloom through this timeline of photos. You should see her now...she's even cuter!

Still Sassy

How many of us would LOVE to know what our parents were like as children? I know I would, and the best way to document this for your own children, is to ask your parents and then get to scrapping! In her layout, "Still Sassy," IP Design Team Member Ally Landy journaled about her mother saying that she was a sweet child. Ally then gave her own opinion on the subject, saying she believes she was just as sassy then as she is now. Either way, beautiful layout and beautiful sass!

Stuff for your Stuff (and a piggy too)

We all need more space for our growing mounds of scrapbooking materials, tools, and projects. So let this be an excuse to do some more altering! Here is a box by Imagination Project Design Team Member Kelly Lautenbach, made especially for all of her 'stuff!' Team Member Deb Perry did the same with her altered piggy bank...a place to save money to buy more stuff! Deb used Afternoon Tea paper from Chloe's Closet to create a mosaic look on her piggy bank. She then added fabriX, flower coasters, and cotton art tape to finish it off. Will this be the new Imagination Project Mascot...IPiggy?

Marking Your Territory

Let everyone in the house know where the scrapzone is by claiming the territory as yours. Imagination Project Design Team member Kim Brock, decorated three letter blocks spelling out her name to put above her scrap desk. Now, as queen of this area, she can escape to create whenever she wants!

Chalkboard

Decorations for your scrap area can be functional as well as fashionable. Imagination Project Design Team member Shelley Anderson decorated a chalkboard using Gin-X "Anyone, Anyone." She writes "regarding my mini chalkboard...i did one last year that was similar...and tied to the chalkboard was a crayola chalk crayon...which looked nicer and it was easier to write with on the board... [but] I ended up using a regular one that came in a chalk bucket that we had on hand:( no pointy tip to write on the board with." It is great for writing layout ideas, scrap dates, or supplies to buy.

IP Products Used: Gin-X "Anyone Anyone" (31 Flavors GP22174), (You're My Hero GP22169), (GP22171 Shauna or Jean), (A Professional GP22170), Retro DynamiX Dots (GS22047)

Flowers of Steel

Imagination Project Design Team Member Jane Hasty used Gin-X's Flowers of Steel line to decorate her scrap area using three different projects. A bulletin board, pencil cup, and a frame featuring flowers she made herself help unify her scraproom. This line coordinates wonderfully with her wall color and help inspire this awesome designer.

Paradise Found

Framing only a section of a photo is a great way to draw attention to a point of interest. In this layout by Lisa Risser, the circle ring draws you to the face of her subject. She also did a great job of matching the color and theme of her paper to her subject and photo setting. Thanks for looking!
