To ink...or not to ink.

That is the question. Here are two identical cards...one inked, one not. It's purely a preference thing, but inking certainly adds that extra dimension and texture. Coasters are great for inking because they keep the true color of ink and are not glossy so they absorb ink well. So before you adhere your embellishments and paper, try inking them just for kicks. And send us your before and afters!

Sally Davidson

The journaling on this layout was derived from a quiz sent around to the entire IP design team. Journaling hang-ups can be easily cured with a quick question and answer session. The six squares IP design team member Terri Davenport uses for journaling focus on different aspects of Sally's personality and life. Find some quizzes today online or in a book, and quiz yourself or a loved one. You never know what you might find out!

Plus, don't forget to email your sketch layouts to Laura@imaginationproject.com by Friday morning for the chance to featured on the blog!

Scrapbook Pumpkins

Don't like sawing, gutting and carving? Try pumpkin carving this year with scrapbooking, just like IP design team member Terri Davenport. In this card, Terri punched a hole in the orange circle coaster and formed her face within that, giving dimension. Note that her circle was punched slightly off center to give it a little more pizazz. It's simple, it's colorful...it's Halloween!

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers!

Here's a nice little bouquet of flowers made from Imagination Project papers and Gin-X Flower Coasters. Gin-X Flower Coasters are available in a rainbow of colors, so mixing flowers from different sheets creates a festive bouquet. The flowers are made by looping a bead and then the coaster flower with floral wire. The floral wire is then wrapped with floral tape. The S. Pellegrino bottle works as a nice little vase!

Products used:
Chloe's Closet Paper (Accessorize Collection)
Chartreuse Dream (Chills 'n' thrills and Terra Firma)
Gin-X Flower Coasters (various colors)

Silly Scrapping

We scrap the everyday, the big events, the sweet moments, and the people in our lives. But have you ever scrapped the silly? Laughter is an important part of life, so it should be an important part of scrapbooking! Have fun with your photos, your journaling and your patterns. In this tag book, I chronicle my plane ride with Ginger from Atlanta to Dayton, which included a two row plane and a 30,000 feet panic attack. We played around to make me feel better, and the photos we took made this tag book a blast to make, and help me laugh at the memories!

Terri Davenport

In this layout featuring the lovely and talented Terri Davenport, IP design team member Samuel Cole reminds us not to be bound by the 12x12 measurements of your typical scrapbook page. Taking a leap with his circles, Sam flows off the page with patterns cut from Center City Design's Murray Hill paper. His journaling acts as a border to the photo. The letters were a perfecty funky fit to the bold paper and Terri's great personality. Great job Sam!

Samuel Cole

Vicki Boutin certainly captured the unique presence of the wonderful and talented Sam Cole through her layout for Trading Faces. With the fun colors and bold journaling strips like rays from the star, Vicki represents Sam's contagious spirit and the happiness he carries wherever he goes. Note Vicki's journaling within the word Guy. Truly fabulous!

Vicki Boutin

Each scrapper his his or her own unique style. The neat thing about Trading Faces with the IP design team is that each designer is seen within the context of another's style. Here we see Vicki Boutin celebrated through Shelley Anderson's simple yet detailed styling. Shelley wanted to portray Vicki's bubbly personality with circles. And we must note the stars she also included that represent what a scrapping star our Vicki is! To see Vicki's work, be sure to check in tomorrow as we move on to our next designer!

Shelley Anderson

This layout by Emily Adams features IP design team member Shelley Anderson. The photo was taken by Jane Hasty at CHA this summer, during an impromptu photo shoot outside of the hotel. Using Chartreuse Dream's Cosmic Alignment patterned paper, Emily showcases Shelley's gorgeous face and personality through the whimsical feel of the layout. Note the hidden journaling on a library card below the flowers.

Emily Adams

Today starts off Trading Faces, an idea put forth by our own Samuel Cole. Starting with Emily Adams, we will take a journey through the IP design team alphabetically, getting a chance to see everyone's work, as well as learn a little bit about each designer. Today's layout, done by Lisa Truesdell features the fabulously talented Emily Adams. Straight from Texas, Emily has contributed many great things to Imagination Project including classes featuring our products as well as beautiful layouts and projects for our gallery. Thanks for reading and stay tuned tomorrow for a layout by Emily!

Back from Memory Trends

Well, we're all home safe and sound, hopefully well rested from a long week at Memory Trends. Don't let anyone fool you, tradeshows are hard work. They are well worth everything, but certainly energy consuming. Here in the office, we're already getting ready for CHA Winter, the scrapbook-clock never stops ticking!

Starting tomorrow, the blog will follow 'trading faces,' something the design team has been working on for a few months. The designers have done layouts of each other in alphabetical order, as a way to both celebrate each other and remember to get layouts of themselves done. This idea is courtesy of the fabulous Samuel Cole, and tomorrow we will start with Emily Adams...a very good place to start!

Showtime Eve...

The scrappers all nestled snug in their beds, while visions of scrapbooking danced in their heads...

It's late Monday night and we have booth 263 just about ready to welcome visitors. The two days of setup have actually been quite pleasant, with mild temperatures and minimal complications. We will definitely post photos once we get everything presentable, and will be sure to let everyone know how things are going.

Thanks for reading...and to all a good night!
