Doing the Slide...
For the first time this year I gave online gift certificates as gifts. It felt a little bit too easy, so I wanted to do something really special with the presentation. This is a gift card slider. I started by covering a used gift card {always keep these} with cardstock and printing a piece of paper with my own custom "gift card" to fit. Then I measured a width a little wider than the card and cut a strip of cardstock. I folded it over and used 1/8 inch double sided tape to attach the outside seams {you could also stitch that edge if wanted to}. After that, I punched a hole through both layers of the top of the "folder" and threaded a long ribbon through it. I nestled the card into the envelope, which pushed the ribbon down as it went. Then I tied a tight bow on the top. As a result, you didn't need to untie it to get the card out - you only needed to firmly pull on the bow & the whole thing turned into a magic slider. I added some of my favorite Blue Cardigan paper to the front to create the finished look. These were a huge hit with my family. It's a great way to jazz up any gift card - enjoy!
