Speaking of Staggered Tags...

Speaking of staggered tag books...I wanted to share another one today to show how varied they can look covered. Today's mini album is by DT member, Jane Hasty and features her daughter Emma & their dog.

I've been playing with these staggered tag books for a while now, and I'm a little embarrassed to admit I never considered turning them "portrait" instead of "landscape" to create my pages. I really like the effect. Makes me want to put two sets together and make a little flip calendar with these {I feel a project coming on!}.

I know Ginger talked about some ways you can vary this book...but I wanted to add my 2 cents and give you some more ideas! Since it's made from coasterboard it's perfect for rubber stamping or acrylic paints. Try covering one side with patterned paper & painting the backs. Or try using patterns on one side and some of our lined journaling papers on the back.

I'm declaring the rest of this week staggered tag week, tune back in to see what else we do with this fun set {and remember - only $2.99!!!!!! My favorite kind of product, peppy & cheap}.

Cute, simple project

Did you know that you can turn this

Into this!

All it takes is the Staggered Tag Book (MSRP $2.99), two notebook rings, a few sheets of paper and embellishments and you have a SUPER cute mini-album to display or give as a gift.

Each piece of the staggered tag book is off-set by 1/2" so that as you flip the pages, they get longer. Plus, since the book is made of coaster material, you can easily punch through it with a standard hole punch or the Crop-O-Dile. You can also adjust the thickness of your book based on the size of the notebook rings you weave through it. This example shows a 3/4" notebook ring and there are coasters in-between the pages. You can add even more embellishments if you just increase the ring size. (Or, even add cardstock pages - use the coaster as a template to trace and cut!)

Paper is from the "Get into My Car" line by Gin-X.

We have FOUR winners!!!

Because the response to our contest was MUCH more than we had anticipated, we decided to give away FOUR prize packages. (Instead of two!) At approximately 3:20, I drew four e-mails (I wanted to post a really fun photo of us drawing names, but honestly - I have my hair pulled back in a clip today and a ratty sweatshirt on because we've been pounded with over 3 inches of ice on top of snow. So - bad weather = bad hair) and here are the winners:

CorrenaT
Nancy?
KarenL
TinaC

All four winners have been notified via E-mail. Once again - congratulations to our Valentine's Winners!!!! I hope this makes your day special! :)

Make sure to always check the IP blog because you never know when we're going to offer a great idea, run a fun contest, or show you some awesome tips and tricks!

By the way - I deleted the post with the comments to prevent spams, etc.

From crate to creativity...

We took a lot of pictures at CHA last week in Anaheim. I've been gathering photos from our members that went and still have more to get, but I went ahead and compiled them into a chronological slide show of our CHA experience. So far we have almost 200 pictures in our CHAW album. There is a flash badge in the sidebar to get to the collection, just double click on any of the pictures and choose the "view as a slide show" option in the gray box on the right. Enjoy!

Scheduling some fun...

Don't ever forget to schedule yourself some fun! I added that note to this clipboard calendar I made yesterday as a reminder. Life moves fast - slow down & appreciate the every day blessings in your life.

We've made the art of making clipboard calendars easier than ever with the introduction of the Calendar Counts cardstock stickers, which are perfectly sized for this project. These stickers are part of our new Totally Dated line from Project Essentials and come in black on white, white on black and brown on ivory. I also used papers from Chloe's Closet new Singin' In the Rain collection {which, by the way, totally rock. LOV-ing the colors}.

I know, every day it seems I have a "do you know what I love about IP?" moment...but here it is again. I really love that they have basics - solid color & even unfinished coasters that can match anything! The flowers are from an earlier Gin-X release and you can see how well they work with this. They're timeless.

Good Times...

Today's striking layout is by design team member, Diane DiTullio. I love how dramatic it is & how the use of black makes the photo "pop". Diane shows her skills with an exacto with fun elements cut out from our patterned papers. My favorite pieces are the "branch-like" stems that frame the picture on two sides.

Ginger designed this collection, As You Wish, to encourage people to tell their own stories or to record the stories of their loved ones. Diane did a really good job of capturing one of those precious moments you just want to freeze in time.

Scrap to the beat...

I read Morris' post yesterday - wow, 2 degrees up at our home office in Cincinnati. When I touched base with them today, Morris' pipes had burst overnight & the city was getting 3-5 inches of snow. Ginger called it the "white death". She told me last time they had this much snow in a day it took her 4 hours to drive home. Almost makes me feel guilty. Almost. Meanwhile at our Dallas office {i.e. my house} I am experiencing 68 degree sunshine. It's glorious. This is why I'll never move for a job {remind me of this on our ump-teenth consecutive day of 100+ temperatures this summer}.

Now, for today's pick...What is your playlist? If you set your day to music, what would it sound like? Music means a lot to me, as it does to many of us. It's all about passion and self-expression, jubilation & sadness, calm & chaos. Scrap about it. Scrap to the rhythm of your life. Listen for the beat.
Today's layout is by design team member, Greta Hammond. I love the expressions in the pictures & the story she has to tell. Greta used the great grid and cool columns papers from the Office Supplied line by Project Essentials and combined them with papers from Circus Rose's Playlist line. In Playlist there's a paper called "Dancing Dots" where all the circles are designed to fit a 1 inch punch. Greta has punched out some of those pieces to use as elements in her design.
Bundle up or stay cool depending on where you are...wherever you are plan a layout about your personal playlist. Whether it's what you listen to everyday, when you're sad or happy, or create a soundtrack for your life...

Brrrr, it's cold here

Brrr, it's cold here in Cincinnati, the HQ of Imagination Project. Right now, as I write, it's 2 degrees F. That's cold! As much as I wanted to get back home from CHA in Anaheim to get back to work, some extra warm days in Anaheim would have been great!

Today, we have a layout from our new Design Coordinator, Kayla. Kayla joined us right before CHA. Kayla is a great addition to Imagination Project and you'll be seeing a lot of her work here soon!

This layout uses the grid paper (HP26005 Great Grid Paper Ivory) from the Office Supplied line from Project Essentials, and Clock paper (BP24070 Time of Day) from Blue Cardigan's Yesterdays Collection. This layout shows the versatility of these two papers!
